The Anaheim Ducks organization announced on Wednesday that general manager Bob Murray has resigned! As announced yesterday, he will be replaced, on an interim basis, by his now ex-assistant, Jeff Solomon.
This news follows the beginning of an investigation against Murray, who had been leading the organization since November 2008. The 66-year-old was suspended until further notice on Tuesday following complaints of inappropriate professional conduct.
The National Hockey League issued a statement following the news of Murray's departure, thanking the Ducks for acting quickly on the matter. It also explained that no such behaviour will be accepted, despite Murray's personal problems, which include an apparent alcohol addiction.
