Jesperi Kotkaniemi passed his medical and physical tests, so he could start his first training camp with the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes have an attractive core with two excellent Finnish players in Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen. With the addition of KK, they form a nice Finnish group.
Antti Raanta gently teased the three kids, saying that he has two kids at home and three at the rink: "I have two kids at home and three at the rink. So it's understandable that the three pals have been having fun like little brothers since they got together, hahaha".
That said, on the ice, Rod Brind'Amour gave his new player a little welcome gift by placing him to the left of Vincent Trocheck, seen as the Hurricanes' potential 2nd center for the upcoming schedule. The 28 year-old pivot had 43 points, including 17 goals, in 47 games during the 2021 season.
Once again, I repeat. I wish Jesperi Kotkaniemi real success, as he seems to be a good, happy person. He has the potential to be a great hockey player. But, personally, I prefer the type of player that Christian Dvorak is.
