The Montreal Canadiens players jumped on the ice at the Bell Sports Complex on Thursday morning, as three groups were formed. It quickly became apparent who the first two units would be made up of... but also some depth combinations. As for the supporting forwards, Artturi Lehkonen must have been wondering where he was going to end up... with good reason.
"Lehko" is entitled to ask himself a multitude of questions since some trios seem to hide a little something, as Renaud Lavoie rightly pointed out Thursday night.
"I understand that we'll have some preparatory games to play and that we want to balance the trios of the different groups and all that, but the fact remains that Lehkonen is paired with the team's fifth center. And the worst part is that he's on that unit despite the absence of Brendan Gallagher and Mike Hoffman." - Lavoie
By the way, the 5th center Renaud is talking about is Ryan Poehling, a player that I personally see starting the campaign with the Montreal Canadiens. But he is quite right about Lehkonen, a young veteran of the Habs who played a decisive role in the last playoffs. As you read this, the Finn is probably wondering what role Ducharme will give him.
Where is he on the roster now?
