According to several very reliable sources, including Frank Seravalli, the Chicago Blackawks have selected Luke Richardson as their new head coach.
This means that his time in Montreal is over and Martin St-Louis will have to find a new experienced assistant. This is obviously a big loss for St-Louis and for the Habs, but we are happy for Luke.
It is well deserved and it will be his first opportunity as a head coach in the NHL.
More details will follow and it will be really interesting to see who will replace him in Montreal.
"Not that Frank needs confirmation, but I'm also hearing that it's happening (Richardson is hired by Chicago and is leaving MTL). You'll never meet a Canadiens defenseman who wasn't thrilled to work with Richardson. Great communicator, great human being.
He was an absolute pleasure to work with from a media standpoint. He deserves it." - Eric Engels
