We have received a variety of messages over the past few hours to warn us of a big transaction confirmed between the Los Angeles Kings and the Montreal Canadiens, an exchange involving Ben Chiarot.
The account looks very real, but no, it's a fake one. As NHL trading season approaches, and with the Habs' real account about to announce several big trades, it's a good reminder to make this Monday morning.
You have to be careful not to get tricked. Good advice: look at the bio of the account, make sure you see the famous «blue checkmark» and perhaps also look at the number of subscribers.
That said, it's true that the Kings are interested in Chiarot's services, and it's also true that a trade is imminent, according to the majority of insiders. The trade talks intensified over the weekend. (with the injury scare)
No, Brendan Gallagher is not traded either.
