Big news: a new film on the life of Guy Lafleur is in the works and interesting details are emerging
Over the years, many projects to adapt the life of Guy Lafleur for the big screen have taken shape. Unfortunately, none of these have yet seen the light of day. That is about to change, however, as Luc Picard recently announced that he is currently working on a film based on the life of the famous number 10.
In a recent radio interview with Radio-Canada, Picard says he is currently writing the script. The latter absolutely wants the film to live up to the man.
"I try to find the essence of the man himself. He is a man of few words. He has a kind of humility that was also found in Maurice Richard. His physical strength also surprised me when I met him. You know you are in the presence of an athlete when you are with Guy Lafleur." - Luc Picard
Since we don't yet know when the film will be shot, it's still too early to talk about the casting of this movie. The site Balle Courbe does, however, offer to see several actors portraying the blonde Demon since he has been in the Quebec media landscape for a very long time, since the Pee-Wee category. The RDS-affiliated site also suggests four actors for the role in Maxime Gibeault, Antoine-Olivier Pilon, Robert Naylor and Pierre-Luc Funk.
