Big statement from Kris Letang about the Canadiens and it's causing a lot of talk among fans

After five games to start the season, the Habs have a respectable 3-2 record, as opposed to five losses at the same time in 2021-2022.

But what has been impressive about Martin St-Louis' men so far this season is the performance of the defensive brigade. Kaiden Guhle is proving that he will be a true leader on this team, Jordan Harris is pretty amazing and what about Arber Xhekaj. Not bad for a defense that was said to be inexperienced during training camp.

But let's not be afraid, there is still a lot of hockey to be played in this young season and despite everything, the Habs are still a team in rebuilding. However, as Marc-Olivier Cook of Danslescoulisses.com reports, one NHL star defenseman is a big believer in the Habs' potential over the next few years.

During the Lavoie-Letang podcast, Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kristopher Letang and TVA Sports reporter Renaud Lavoie discussed the Habs' strong start to the season, and the Penguins' #58 said he was very impressed with the team's young defense, especially Kaiden Guhle's play.

Letang added that the Canadiens' number 21 is starting to make a name for himself around the NHL and is already respected by his opponents. In addition, the comments about him are always positive.

But what's really interesting about Letang's comments is that he believes the Habs will be a force in three years.

Wow, yes, a force, no less! Even if fans will have to be patient, in a way, this statement from the Penguins' star defenseman does a lot of good to Canadiens fans, who suffered a lot in 2021-2022.

The team is off to a good start this season, and while there will certainly be down times, it's safe to say that for the first time since last year, the organization is heading in the right direction, and in the end, three years isn't all that long.
