Brandon Prust made a good decision under the circumstances
Brandon Prust has been in the news over the past few days and let's just say it's not for the right reasons. The former Montreal Canadiens pugilist set Twitter ablaze when he sent a lady waltzing who didn't agree with his anti-government rants. He was very incisive and VERY rude to her.
Here is the rant in question, for those who missed that episode:
"So does that mean they can force me to do anything they want? I hope they force you into the sex trade so you can finally get fucked like sheep. I paid more taxes for these roads than you could ever dream of money in your account. You deserve to stay in your basement!" -Brandon Prust
So after receiving a ton of tomatoes in the face, he apologized to the woman, even though the damage was already done, and then made the decision to take a break from social media.
"I would like to apologize to the lady I replied to. She deleted her tweet, so I can't find her. My intention was not to offend anyone, it was a bad joke. I apologize for my poor choice of words. I hope the government doesn't force anyone into the sex trade!" -Brandon Prust
"After thinking about it, listening to the advice of my family and friends, and my community, I know that what I tweeted was wrong. I do not encourage or condone violence against women. I respect women. I will also work to better understand Public Health's actions.
To Elizabeth MacAulay, I sincerely and deeply apologize. This is an important learning period for me. I will take a break from social media to learn and move forward.
Thank you to everyone who has played a role in opening my eyes to this pilgrimage I must make, to become a better citizen."
