The Journal de Montréal's excellent journalist Jonathan Bernier recently spoke with former Montreal Canadiens defenceman Brett Kulak.
Kulak, who was traded to the Oilers last March and was just eliminated from the playoffs, made a major statement about his future in the NHL:
"There's definitely a chance I'll be back in Montreal. I'll definitely think about it. I loved my time with the Montreal Canadiens. From day one, I was treated with class. I felt really special to be a part of this organization." - Brett Kulak, and reported by Jonathan Bernier
Wow! Remember that Kulak will be a free agent and free as a bird in a month. Could he sign with the CH? It definitely seems possible:
"This organization is definitely moving in the right direction. I had time to meet with new management (before the deal). Marty (St. Louis), Kent (Hughes), Jeff (Gorton) are very savvy field hockey men. They've already made some big changes to the team. I think they will do a great job." - Brett Kulak, and reported by Jonathan Bernier
Of course, let's remember that if Kulak returns to Montreal, the Habs still get to keep what they received, in exchange for the defenseman, at the trade deadline: a second-round pick in 2022, a seventh-round pick in 2024, and backup William Lagesson.
