On this Sunday night, Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price was on the Blue Pocket podcast and it was very interesting.

True to the man he is, Carey was generous with his time and really delivered a unique interview. It was a great moment for the fans.

Among the topics discussed, Price initially talked about his years in junior and even talked about the NHL pre-draft process.

As my colleague Vincent Fournier reports, there are two interesting things to remember about this segment of the episode.

1) His most difficult interview was in Montreal. He even says that one person asked him to answer a question along the lines of: why do you give away a bad goal every game?

Wow.

2) He thought he was going to get drafted by the Minesota Wild or the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Wild drafted 4th and they took Benoit Pouliot. The CH drafted 5th and they took Price before he went to the Blue Jackets, who eventually drafted Gilbert Brule.

It's really interesting honestly. So Carey was extremely surprised when the Montreal Canadiens called his name.

Imagine if Price had been drafted by Columbus or Minnesota, it would have literally changed everything. The last 15 years of the Montreal Canadiens would have been so completely different.

Carey believes, in hindsight, that Montreal officials were very tough on him in a pre-draft interview to see if he was ready for the Montreal reporters.

It makes sense.

The least we can say is that it was a brilliant decision to draft Carey Price.
