Unless something unexpected happens, the Montreal Canadiens will be back in action on Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Despite the uncertainty that surrounds the 2021-22 season at the moment, it is important to remember that the Habs probably has very little to hope for from this campaign which is a pure disaster so far.
With this in mind, Chantal Machabée spoke about the future of the organization on91.9 Sportson Monday. The reporter went on to make a prediction that will make many fans react, she said that Jake Allen will, according to her, be the starting goaltender for the Habs next season.
As you guessed, that means Carey Price would no longer be on the team next year. Where will he be? That is a question that remains unanswered for the moment.
This statement also means that Jeff Gorton should likely take the road to reconstruction. Speaking of Gorton, Chantal Machabée also added her grain of salt about the identity of the next general manager of the Canadiens, saying that Mathieu Darche will be the trusted man of Gorton, and that the formalization of this news should fall by next week.
In short, on how many of these points do you think Chantal Machabée will be right?
