According to Elliotte Friedman, Claude Julien will be the head coach of the Canadian team at the Spengler Cup. He would also have another former NHLer as an assistant, Bruce Boudreau.
Moreover, if they are not committed to the NHL by then, the Canadian team could need them at the next Olympics, if the NHL can't make it.
Remember that Claude Julien has been waiting impatiently for a team to sign him since the Habs fired him last February. Perhaps if his team is successful during the holidays, the 61-year-old will have interesting opportunities available to him in the NHL.
