However, many experts expect Pastrnak to sign a contract extension with the Bruins, but according to what Marker.com's Nicolas Desrosiers reports, his demands may just be astronomical.
At least that's what reporter John Buccigross said, who believes Bruins management would have offered him a contract similar to the one Johnny Gaudreau signed in Columbus, eight years and about $10 million a year.
According to Buccigross, the Czech forward would be looking for an eight-year contract worth about $100 million, which averages about $12.5 million per year, the same annual salary as Connor McDavid. In fact, the tipster believes that Pastrnak will not accept a lesser contract than the one Artemi Panarin signed with the Rangers, $11.64 million per year.
However, another insider, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, expects to see the Bruins and Pastrnak's clan agree on the terms of a contract worth about $11 million per season.
Who's telling the truth in all this?
It's hard to say at this point, but it's a safe bet that next season David Pastrnak will definitely be one of the highest paid players in the NHL.
