It's no secret to anyone, Carey Price will never put on a goalie uniform in the NHL again. He will finish his contract with the organization and, subsequently, after the 2025-2026 season, officially retire.
Many believe that he could then, due to his legacy within the organization, take a position in the club's management. However, this is not what Marc Dumont of Montreal Hockey Now thinks, who worked with him in the CH organization as a content creator and liaison with fans.
Dumont does not see Price taking a full-time position with the club. Instead, he envisions him as a part-time consultant, likely at the goalie level. This would allow him to spend more time where he feels comfortable, in nature.
"I don't want to speak for him, but I get the impression that Carey Price is a person blessed with high-level athletic skills but prefers to spend his time in the forest, whether it's hunting or fishing.
And I must say I understand that. Frankly, I would prefer to hunt or fish too.
I don't think he wants to get involved in a full-time position, although a consulting job could be conceivable."
This would confirm a rumor that has been circulating for some time about his future with the club and his intentions going forward.
It's worth remembering that the Price family will return to their British Columbia home as soon as the school calendar ends. It goes without saying that he will turn the page on the city and his involvement with the club that drafted him.
