Yesterday, Kent Hughes introduced himself to his new fans and the Quebec media. He talked about his goals and answered many questions, especially about Dominique Ducharme.
He had confirmed that Dominique Ducharme would be in place for the rest of the year in an interview with RDS following his inaugural press conference.
However, one has to wonder what the future holds for Dom Ducharme after the 2021-2022 season. Hughes mentioned that he would sit down with Ducharme to ask him his game plan for the future, whether the two men are on the same page.
They have the same philosophy, which is to advocate offensive-based formations. Will there be a "match"? It could be. However, Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes will have to give Ducharme a team that can play that style of game.
If there is any ambiguity about Dominique Ducharme's future with the Montreal Canadiens, the head coach has probably just put to rest some of the rumours that he was fired. He spoke to the media following his players' practice and said that he was really excited to be a part of the plans and to be able to look forward to the future.
Does this mean that the Habs new management has confirmed that he will be back next year? It may be too early to tell, but the Quebec driver seemed pretty sure he would be part of the team's revival.
