The potential comeback of Patrick Roy in the NHL is causing quite a stir. While his tenure in junior hockey is undoubtedly coming to an end, everyone is eagerly wondering where the legendary goaltender will land for his second stint behind a professional bench.
There are several franchises currently in search of a head coach for their respective teams, but one in particular has already contacted Patrick Roy, according to renowned insider Elliotte Friedman, and that team is the Columbus Blue Jackets.
While this organization is building a solid young team with several successful draft picks, Columbus is on the verge of regaining competitiveness, much like the New Jersey Devils did this year.
Although it may not seem like the most glamorous destination at first glance, the Blue Jackets have a very promising future, and the arrival of a coach of Roy's caliber could certainly contribute to the long-term success of this team.
Columbus is possibly just one or two seasons away from making a major push for the playoffs, and with the incredible pool of young players in their organization, all signs point to this franchise potentially becoming a force in the NHL in the near future.
