It's obvious that the Habs are in the midst of several trade rumors. The Habs are rebuilding and despite the club's rather surprising early season performance, Kent Hughes is sticking to his original plan of liquidating current roster assets to build a better team for the very long term.

Center Christian Dvorak does not seem to be part of the team's rebuilding plans and the possibility of him being traded was mentioned by Renaud Lavoie on Jean-Charles Lajoie's show.

The TVA Sports reporter, however, says that the Tricolore does not want to get rid of his contract and that they will ask for a very good return for Dvorak.

"I'm not saying that the Canadiens are going to let him go for a fifth-round pick. Not at all, that's not what's going to happen. We're not giving away Christian Dvorak." - Renaud Lavoie

Lavoie added that the fact that he excels in his defensive role with the CH makes them very attractive on the trade market.

"I know he has two more years left on his contract (at $4.45M), but he's a guy who's playing his defensive role very well right now. That's mostly what they're asking of him with the Montreal Canadiens. If he continues like this, I wonder if there isn't a team that will knock on the Montreal Canadiens' door to release them from this contract." - Renaud Lavoie

In addition to his performances on the 200-foot ice, the 26-year-old center has eight points, including three goals in 17 games this season.

Could the CH's No. 28 bring in an additional first-round pick for Hughes? Given his age and defensive skills, there is no doubt that he could bring a great return to the Tricolore.
