On November 4th, the saga between the Buffalo Sabres and Jack Eichel ended when the American forward was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights. However, he had to undergo complex neck surgery before he could return to action with his new team. At the time, the most optimists predicted that Eichel would be back in action in March.

But today, there was a new face at the Knights practice. Jack Eichel took part in his first practice as a member of the Golden Knights: "It was incredible," Eichel told the media after jumping on the ice with his new teammates. "It was an emotional moment for me. I'm like a kid on Christmas Day."

He was wearing a red jersey during practice, meaning he was practicing without contact. However, the main man wouldn't be far off from a return to play.

"I feel like I'm almost back to normal," added the second overall pick in the 2015 draft, behind Connor McDavid. "[The surgery] was a lot easier than I expected. To be honest, everything went really well."

Eichel also took the opportunity to put in a word about the NHL's decision to skip the upcoming Olympics: "Like a lot of players, I was very frustrated, he said. I'm not saying I would have been healthy in time to compete, but I'm not saying I wouldn't have been either. I'm really frustrated with that decision."

One thing is for sure, the Knights will be a team to watch with the addition of Jack Eichel to their roster. They will definitely be among the favorites to make a deep run in the playoffs again this year.
