While the Canadiens have teams in all three levels, it's interesting to see the full organizational chart. HabsEOTP reporter Andrew Zadarnowski took a look at this and unveiled what he thinks are the season-opening rosters of the Montreal Canadiens, Laval Rocket and Trois-Rivieres Lions. The result is very interesting.
One thing is clear, there are a lot of forwards in the CH organization right now, especially in Laval. However, this is not a big problem when you know that AHL teams are often looking for players. Injuries in both the AHL and NHL teams force organizations to have good depth.
As far as defensemen are concerned, it is interesting to see that Corey Schueneman and Mattias Norlinder can easily fit into the big club's lineup, leaving the possibility for two young defensemen, Guhle and Barron for example, to make their mark in the minors. The CH can develop its young players while there is some depth.
It will be interesting to see if these fictional lineups come close to reality come October. Until then, speculation will be the order of the day and everyone will have their own ideas on what Kent Hughes should do!
