Last February, shortly after his hiring as GM of the club, Kent Hughes hired Nick Bobrov as co-director of amateur recruiting. He would, along with Martin Lapointe, be in charge of overseeing the draft department.
Since this announcement, no additions to the amateur scouting team have been made. However, this could change very soon...
According to Sylvain St-Laurent, Daniel Doré, who is currently employed by the New York Rangers, is about to leave his position in the Big Apple. It would not be surprising if this departure announces the arrival of Doré in the CH organization.

The link between the CH and the Quebec hockey man is obvious. So much so, that some people even thought he was a possible candidate to succeed Marc Bergevin or at least Trevor Timmins.
As we discussed in an article at the time (here), Doré flew under the radar when the rumors were raging after Bergevin and Timmins were fired. His ties to the current CH leadership are very strong.
The Quebecer, now 51, was a first-round pick of the Nordiques in 1988. If he didn't have a long career as a player, it's at the recruiting level that he made his name. Doré participated in the rebuilding of the Bruins and Rangers. You could say that the quality of the draft picks was present during his time with the clubs. He was the scout assigned to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) when the Bruins drafted Patrice Bergeron in the 2nd round in 2003.
