We have just received some important news from Toronto.

The Maple Leafs organization has just announced that veteran Jason Spezza is making a big decision to retire from professional hockey at the age of 38. It is now official.

Spezza will have played 19 seasons in the Bettman circuit, amassing 995 points (363 goals) in 1248 games. A great and impressive career, during which he also played for the Ottawa Sens and the Dallas Stars.

However, it is not over for Spezza in Toronto, he plays with the Maple Leafs since 2019. (as a player) Jason Spezza will now become special assistant to general manager Kyle Dubas. (with the Leafs)

He wants to be involved and he wants to be part of the solution. Spezza has done some great things on the ice as a player and it will be interesting to see what he is able to accomplish there in the office from now on.

More details to follow!
