Jesperi Kotkaniemi signed a monstrous deal of $6.1 million dollars with Carolina last August 28th. Obviously, with such an illogical deal, Marc Bergevin went to GO and claimed $200 (draft picks to acquire Christian Dvorak afterwards).

That being said, according to many rumors, the relationship between "KK", Dominique Ducharme and the Montreal Canadiens began to be strained when he was cut from the roster during the last playoffs.

According to Darren Dreger on TSN690 this morning, Kotkaniemi's clan told Bergevin that he "probably played his last game with the Habs" after being sent to the stands in game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.

What was unofficial about Kotkaniemi's camp desires now seems official, the love affair between the Red, White, and Blue and their former number 15 ended while the club was struggling against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The message has been sent, so I guess that's why Don Waddell tried to acquire him before offering him that stupid contract.

All in all, let's wish "KK" the best of luck for the rest of his career. For our part, we'll focus on Christian Dvorak, the Montreal Canadiens' new 2nd pivot. We're moving on, just like the Finn!
