It was not in the role of GM that the CH wanted for Patrick Roy...

Serge Savard appeared on the Amateurs de sports program via the 98.5 Sports, then he put an old piece of information on the table.
In 2012, Savard sat on the selection committee, as Bob Gainey currently does. Roy was one of the candidates, obviously, but not for the general manager position. Oh, no?
"Patrick, when I was on that committee that appointed Bergevin, Patrick at that time, was considered an instructor. He was not interviewed as a GM, he was interviewed as an instructor at that time and Bergevin decided not to hire him. That was Marc Bergevin's decision," said Serge Savard.
This information did not circulate excessively in the past, as if no one was really holding it in check at that time.
In short, we can certainly understand Marc Bergevin for not having hired Patrick Roy since the two individuals do not seem really compatible. Roy, as a goalie, YES! Roy, as a leader or coach, I'm not sure!
