As you know, defenseman Ben Chiarot could really be traded at any minute, and among the teams interested, there is the Colorado Avalanche.
Joe Sakic, the GM, has surprisingly publicly revealed the two elements that he would be ready to trade, for the right defenseman, for the right trade.
"Colorado Avalanche GM Joe Sakic has made it clear that he's open to trading his first-round pick in 2023, and word is filtering that former first-round pick, defenseman Justin Barron, would also be available in the right deal." -Frank Seravalli The Habs might take a look at this and possibly trade Chiarot for Justin Barron or for a 2023 first-round pick ++ to the Avalanche?
Or, Montreal might trade Chiarot++, to Colorado, for Justin Barron AND a 2023 first-round pick?
There seems to be potential here and it could get interesting if the Av's are serious about Chiarot and about winning the cup this year.
