Julie Petry opens up after receiving threats online and shares her experience

Montreal Canadiens fans are well aware of what's been going on with the Petry family this year, because Jeff's wife, Julie, has agreed to share several pieces of information publicly. (via her Instagram page)

Whether it's because of her departure from Quebec (to finish the year in Michigan, USA), or because of her opinions on different subjects, Julie Petry has unfortunately been the object of many insults on social networks. This is obviously very unfortunate and she has come out publicly to denounce these attacks and gratuitous threats. (with good reason)

She was even attacked in connection with her husband:

Yesterday, as reported by my colleague Christian Matte (Marqueur.com), Julie Petry was on the Alz Caps podcast, conducted by Karl Alzner and Stephen Whyno

She agreed to look back on what happened (for the first time) and she had an important message to get across:

"I figured enough was enough. If someone could write this kind of thing to me privately, that I owed it to myself to speak out publicly to say that this is unacceptable, because there are humans and families involved. This person attacked my husband as a father." - Julie Petry

As a final note, we were pleased to see that some of the people who wrote him nasty comments privately wrote back to apologize.

"There are three people - I remember their names - who had written me nasty comments and came to apologize and said they didn't think I would read the whole thing." - Julie Petry

Let's hope others do, and more importantly, let's hope this story can move things in the right direction.
