Many Canadiens fans were eager to see Juraj Slafkovsky in action during the Habs' preparatory games. But it must be said that the first pick in the last NHL draft has not broken anything so far as he has been blanked in two games.
It's true that we've only had a small sample of his enormous potential, but as Felix Forget of Danslescoulisses.com reports, Slafkovsky hasn't performed up to his own general manager's expectations.
While appearing on the Ray and Dregs Podcast, Kent Hughes admitted that he was a bit disappointed with the performance of his 18-year-old prospect.
It's true that Slafkovsky wasn't matched up against top players in his two prep games, but the fact remains that, like Hughes, he was expected to be a little more involved.
However, the Habs GM also mentioned that he wasn't too worried about his young prospect and that he enjoyed watching Slafkovsky dominate in the rookie tournament.
That being said, you have to breathe through your nose and understand that he is only 18 years old and he will undoubtedly have the chance to prove to the organization what he is made of in the upcoming games.
