In the final minutes, on day two of the 2022 National Hockey League Draft, Kent Hughes and the Canadiens have just acquired a great goaltender via the draft.

"With the 162nd overall pick, the Canadiens select goaltender Emmett Croteau of Waterloo in the USHL." - Montreal Canadiens

Croteau, 18, is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound goalie who played in the USHL last season. In 35 games in 2021-22, Croteau maintained a 16-16-3 record, a 3.00 goals-against average and a 0.900% save percentage.

He took his game up a notch in the playoffs. (2.71 and 0.913%)

The Habs wanted to add a young goalie via the draft, it's now done and they drafted the 10th best goalie in North America, according to the official drafting center.

Croteau will play with Clarkson University in the NCAA next year.
