As you know, during the most recent game against the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj was unfortunately injured in a fight with Vincent Desharnais.
It seems to be a shoulder injury and it seems to be quite serious, but we were waiting for official news from the organization.
The verdict just came in.
The CH has just announced, as reported by journalist Renaud Lavoie, that "Chris Wideman will be back in the lineup tonight due to the injury suffered by Arber Xhekaj".
Chris Wideman will return to the game with Arber Xhekaj's absence.
- Renaud Lavoie, TVA Sports
So that means the verdict is in: Xhekaj will be OUT tonight (injury).
It remains to be seen now how many games he will unfortunately have to miss. It's a real shame, especially since the Sheriff was playing his best hockey of the season.
More details will follow.
