Now that the Expansion Draft is a thing of the past, teams can focus on the amateur draft and on building their roster for next season. Of course, many teams will try to do this via the free agent market that opens on July 28.
Among the teams that will try to make a big move, there's the New York Islanders. The general manager of the New York team, Lou Lamoriello, might try to sign two big names on the free agent market. They are the two former members of the Minnesota Wild, Zach Parise and Ryan Suter.
Remember that both players were bought out by the Wild last July 13. They will be able to sign with any team when the market opens. These would be two very big additions to the Islanders who, let's not forget, have reached the Association Finals the last two years.
Parise slowed down considerably last year with only 18 points in 45 games. As for Suter, the veteran defenseman had 19 points in 56 games last season. One thing is for sure, if both end up in Long Island, the Islanders will be a serious contender in 2021-2022. How much do you think these two players will cost?
