In the last few minutes, on BPM Sports as part of his first ever column with host Jean-Charles Lajoie, the colorful Bob Hartley made an important announcement.
The former Jack Adams Trophy winner and Stanley Cup champion with the Colorado Avalanche announced his retirement from coaching.
He is, however, leaving one small door open:
"I had three or four offers this summer and it titillated me, but my priority was my family and my grandchildren. Barring a very special offer, it's safe to say my head coaching career is over." - Bob Hartley
What is a special offer? He didn't specify, but we imagine it's an offer that would allow him to stay close to his family and grandchildren.
One thing is for sure, for the time being, he will focus on his radio and TV appearances to talk about hockey.
