If the Canadiens are likely to miss the playoffs for a second consecutive season, it's not the case with the Laval Rocket.

The Canadiens' farm team is currently fighting for a playoff spot in the American Hockey League, with Jean-François Houle's men only one point behind the Rochester Americans and the fourth spot in the North Division, which is the last spot that grants access to the playoffs.

However, due to the numerous injuries on the Canadiens' side, the Rocket's lineup has been deprived of its top players in recent weeks, including Alex Belzile, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and Jesse Ylonen, among others. But the team could get reinforcements from Sweden in the coming days.

As reported by Marco Normandin, of Habsolumentfan.com, forward Emil Heineman, obtained in the trade that sent Tyler Toffoli to Calgary last year, has ended his season in his home country as his team, Leksand IF, has been eliminated from the Swedish Elite League.

And according to journalist Patrik Bexell, the Canadiens' European correspondent for the website Eyes on the Prize, it is highly likely that the young forward will join the Rocket to finish the season and experience North American hockey.

Kent Hughes could announce it soon.

If he joins Laval soon, it will allow the team's management to better evaluate him as the Rocket is currently fighting for a playoff spot.

It would be quite a piece of news for Jean-François Houle, who will also be able to count on the arrival of young defenseman Jayden Struble.

And if there were any other Canadiens players who had to take a turn in the infirmary, Heineman could find himself with the Habs sooner rather than later.
