Major trade made between the Habs and Blackhawks last summer: Kent Hughes just looked like a genius again thanks to Kirby Dach
Since his arrival as general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, Kent Hughes has already concluded several important trades.
In the span of a few months, he has traded away several of the team's key players, including Tyler Toffoli, Ben Chiarot, Artturi Lehkonen and a certain Alexander Romanov.
In the case of Romanov, it was quite a surprise to learn that he had been traded in a big three-team deal.

That had the Bell Centre reacting strongly at the time of the announcement.
Now, a few months later, even though Romanov will be a good NHL defenseman, it's safe to say that Kent Hughes comes across as a true genius.
Every game, Dach is proving his GM more and more right, and what can I say about his performance last night?
In addition to Dach's amazing blossoming, other youngsters have taken over from Romanov, such as Arber Xhekaj and Jordan Harris.
A great move for the CH.
Recall that at the time, a certain Jonathan Toews criticized the Blackhawks for trading Dach, because he believed in him and saw his huge potential.
Today, Dach, who just turned 22, is already having his best season in his career, his best point total (31), his best goal total (10), and all that in 48 games played with the Montreal Canadiens.
