Since he has been in the NHL, Marc-Andre Fleury has never stopped writing his name in the record books. He did it again this Sunday night in a 5-4 win over the San Jose Sharks.
With the win, the Wild confirmed their playoff spot, giving the goaltender his 16th consecutive appearance in the spring tournament. No player in any sport has a similar streak.
Fleury can thank the Blackhawks for trading him earlier this season, giving him a chance to continue his streak since Chicago will not be making the upcoming playoffs.
Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin could have emulated their former teammate, but they were injured throughout the 2011 playoffs. This injury ended their streak of consecutive playoff appearances.
