It is well known that Quebec goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will be looking for a new contract this summer and he will be free as a bird.
Many observers have speculated extensively in recent weeks about the future of number 29 in the NHL.
Where will he end up next year? With the Pittsburgh Penguins? With the Montreal Canadiens? With the Minnesota Wild? Retirement?
The main interested party was asked about this today and he gave a very clear and transparent answer:
"I'm glad I came (to Minnesota). I'm glad I had the opportunity to play with this team. It's a great locker room." - Fleury
And he adds this:
"Fleury says he would "definitely" like to re-sign with the Wild. Obviously, it's a two-man decision, so if it doesn't work out here, he'll test the market. He maintains that he wants to play next season." - Michael Russo, Wild reporter
So, if Minnesota ever offers him a contract (which they most likely will), he'll stay there. His intentions are clear, he wants to stay with the Wild.
HE'S DELIVERING GOOD NEWS
Another question settled: the Quebec goalie will play another season (at least). We can forget about his retirement for this summer, he will be back next year and it's great news for fans.
More details will follow.
