According to what "Dans Les Coulisses" reported, the Chicago Blackhawks are reportedly in serious talks with the Colorado Avalanche for a potential deal involving goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. They would even be very close to a deal.

According to DLC, the Quebecer would like to win one last Stanley Cup before hanging up his pads. Which team would be the best placed to hope to win the big honors, other than the Avalanche? The Avs are currently in first place in the NHL standings with 32 wins in 43 games and 67 points.

In my opinion, the Avalanche are very close to the ultimate goal, but the sub-par performances of their goaltenders over the past few years in the playoffs are a major factor in their lack of success when it counts the most. An experienced guy like Marc-Andre Fleury could easily be the right man for Nathan MacKinnon and his team, who already has three Stanley Cup to his credit and five finals appearances.

However, if a deal were to happen, the Blackhawks would have to dip into the Avalanche's backyard in front of the net, as Colorado already has two NHL-owned goalies in Darcy Kuemper and Pavel Francouz.

With Fleury's hefty $7 million salary weighing on the Blackhawks' payroll, it's a contract that will require some tinkering if they want to send the goalie elsewhere.

With a goalie with this much presence in their ranks, the Avalanche will be desperate to go all the way in 2022. They would be virtually unbeatable with "Flower" between the pipes in my opinion.
