During the Montreal Canadiens training camp, we learned about a young man full of energy, namely Michael Pezzetta. His intensity was greatly appreciated by the Tricolore organization, but despite this, he was sent to the Laval Rocket.
Before heading to Laval, he had to go through waivers, a process that was really risky for the Habs. With the camp that Pezzetta had, he could have easily interested another NHL team.
It was indeed the case! According to Elliotte Friedman, the Philadelphia Flyers came within a hair's breadth of requesting his services. However, Chuck Fletcher changed his mind at the last minute, much to the delight of Laval Rocket head coach Jean-François Houle.
Pezzetta will be an important player for the Rocket, not only for his points, because that's not his main role, but much more for his leadership and his contribution in energy costs. The organization will be able to take advantage of his abilities this season, hopefully.
