We all know how deep Marc Bergevin's desire to win races. The Montreal Canadiens' GM showed during the 2020 offseason how his desire to destroy everything in the playoffs figured at the top of his priorities. Berg added Jake Allen, Joel Edmundson, Tyler Toffoli, Josh Anderson and Corey Perry, who turned out to be major assets to the organization.

This year, he lost Phillip Danault and Corey Perry, two huge losses, but he added David Savard, Mike Hoffman, Cedric Paquette and Mathieu Perreault, which is colossal. However, Mr. Bergevin is aware that his center position is very affected by the loss of Danault, so he has to find a solution to fill the hole left by Danault in his team.

According to the latest information circulating on the web, the Montreal GM has his nose in three files: Jack Eichel, obviously. Tyler Bozak and another one that is currently unknown. The Habs are still trying to acquire the services of Eichel, which remains positive. If that doesn't work out, Bozak could become a replacement piece to be grafted onto the roster.

In the case of the unknown file, would this one be a mobile defenseman, who can help with the offense? If Alexander Romanov was ever involved in a deal to get Eichel's prestigious services, Bergevin needs to cover his bases by adding a defenseman who moves his feet and knows what to do with the puck. This is only speculations, but one thing is certain: Bergevin is still working hard to improve his group.
