Marc Bergevin would have courted three teams for a center player

Christian Dvorak is the new 2nd center for the Montreal Canadiens, an acquisition that remains major. However, before adding him to the current group, Marc Bergevin might have contacted the San Jose Sharks for Tomas Hertl and the Washington Capitals for Evgeny Kuznetsov. Let's add to that list the Calgary Flames to know the precise status of Sean Monahan.
These rumors are reported by one of the best insiders in the business, namely Elliotte Friedman. However, he doesn't say 100% that it happened that way, but he believes it most likely did, especially for Sean Monahan.
"I think they (the Canadiens) asked about Tomas Hertl (Sharks). I think they also called the Capitals about Evgeny Kuznetsov, but it doesn't make sense because Washington wants to do some damage this year. Finally, I'm sure Bergevin has called the Flames regarding the possibility of acquiring Sean Monahan," said Friedman.
Despite these rumors, I still believe that Christian Dvorak was at the top of Marc Bergevin's shopping list. It's simple, Dvorak's name was attached to the Habs even before the offer sheet to Jesperi Kotkaniemi. He is exactly the type of player that Marc Bergevin likes. He has the attitude of a pro and a winner, he's a leader and he has character. We're talking about a competitor who has more talent than you think!
All in all, the old speculations are worthless today, as the Montreal Canadiens are very happy to have a player in their ranks that is almost as perfect as Patrice Bergeron is. Bergy is actually Christian Dvorak's role model, which proves that this is a fact!
