In a press conference in the final seconds of tonight's 7:00 p.m. game against the New Jersey Devils, Montreal Canadiens interim head coach Martin St-Louis announced some big news for Justin Barron.
He will play his first game with the CH tonight! Less than a week after being acquired from the Colorado Avalanche in the Artturi Lehkonen trade.
" Martin St-Louis confirms that Jesse Ylonen and Mathieu Perreault will play tonight in place of Michael Pezzetta and Tyler Pitlick who did not make the trip to New Jersey. Justin Barron will make his debut in the Canadiens uniform. William Lagesson will be left out. Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goalie." - Montreal Canadiens For his first game in a Tricolore uniform, young Barron will be paired with veteran Joel Edmundson, I love it!
