Martin St-Louis makes a surprising decision in net for tonight's game against the Stars
We love it.
We have another clear "statement" from the Montreal Canadiens, indicating that Samuel Montembeault is the organization's number one goaltender, despite the famous threesome.
He will be back in front of the Habs' net tonight, against the Stars in Dallas.
This is obviously bad news for Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau, who must still be patient, but it's a good decision.
It's certain that it's not ideal to see Allen and Primeau play just a game from time to time, but Montembeault has earned the right to play more often.
Anyway, it's a decision that will please many observers, including a certain Benoit Brunet, from RDS.
We remember when analysts went off on St-Louis live on air:
"Samuel Montembeault will be the starting goaltender against the Stars, to conclude this sequence of 7 games on opposing rinks.
Montembeault has won his last five games."
Patrick Friolet, RDS
And the official statement.
"Martin St-Louis confirms that no changes will be made to the lineup against the Stars." - Montreal Canadiens
Montembeault, 27, has a record of 7-5-3 this season, an average of 2.94 and an efficiency rate of 0.903.
Do you like this decision to break the rotation again?
