We were talking about it in the last few minutes, but we absolutely have to come back to today's press conference with Montreal Canadiens' head coach Martin St-Louis.
Please note here that we intentionally omitted (as usual) the word "interim".
Martin St-Louis seems to have realized that he doesn't have to hide so much anymore to communicate his intentions to the media.
After the little whirlwind it created, St. Louis, in his first media appearance since, stopped playing with words.
We were cautious in releasing the initial news, but we'll tell you again now that after analysis and after seeing the different reactions, we can say it: Martin St-Louis has confirmed his intentions regarding his future behind the bench of the Montreal Canadiens.
In a press conference this afternoon, in anticipation of the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, St-Louis said this.
You be the judge, but it seems very clear:
"I was brought here to finish the season. My goal is to come back next year. I don't see anything stopping that," Martin St-Louis told colleague @StuCowan1 - Luc Gélinas
in English.
"I don't see anything that would prevent me from being back next year." - Martin St-Louis
He doesn't see anything that would prevent him from coming back next year and clearly that's the goal of Habs management as well.
Let's actually remember that in recent weeks, Kent Hughes mentioned that the ball was in St-Louis' court.
St-Louis has now made his choice, so bingo!
It looks like the two sides have reached an agreement and are waiting for the season to end before making it official.
More details will follow, but we can expect very good news! St-Louis didn't want to rush anything, but clearly, he's the man for the job.
