A few days ago, Max Pacioretty appeared on the Raw Knuckles Podcast hosted by Chris Nilan and Tim Stapleton and several interesting topics were discussed. In addition to talking about the Chara incident and his relationship with his former coach with the Habs, Michel Therrien, Pacio also talked about his time in Vegas.
From what we can understand, the veteran forward was apparently not happy during his stay in the desert, especially because of the management.
"When I first got to Vegas, it was weird that there was, like, no accountability. And I'm not talking on the team, I'm talking like there never was. You couldn't feel the pressure coming from anyone else, from the coach to management."
"I mentioned that at the end of the year, no one was really holding us accountable. If we have a bad year like this, the city would be half on fire in Montreal. Here in Vegas, it's 80 degrees and sunny. We get our car washed, get our food organic and go golfing. [...] I don't want to say it was a country club, but you don't have anyone on the outside holding you accountable." - Max Pacioretty
He adds that it was very different, compared to his time with the Montreal Canadiens.
The Knights are already one of the most hated teams in the NHL, and a player with Pacioretty's class standing up to them will only make their reputation worse. Remember that many NHL players refuse to play in Vegas because of the treatment they receive.
