As you know, the Montreal Canadiens are currently on vacation and the season is over, but despite this, the managers Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are working very hard to improve the team and to find players.

They are currently in Finland.

Everything indicates that the CH will be active in the next few months, as the new bosses will certainly want to put the team in their image and will want to release some of the more restrictive contracts.

The first big step will be the famous 2022 draft, but then there will be the opening of the free agent market.

This will be the time when Hughes will try to attract and sign impact players, like a certain Kris Letang.

Besides Letang, it's certain that several big names will be very tempting and in demand: Claude Giroux, Evgeni Malkin, Filip Forsberg, Johnny Gaudreau, but as Marco Normandin (HABSolumentFan) reports, another name could well be targeted by Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.

A player that reminds me immensely of Bryan Rust (58 points in 60 games this season and 8 points in 7 playoff games). A player who is extremely underrated in the NHL, appreciated by all his coaches, able to produce en masse, but also very reliable defensively.

We are talking about : Andrew Copp.

A 27 year old forward who is finishing his contract at $3,640,000 per season this year. He has 18 points in 16 games since his arrival in New York (7 points in 7 playoff games)
