Thursday night, Carey Price was back in net for a third game this season. The task was more difficult for the veteran goaltender as he allowed six goals in a 6-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. It was the seventh consecutive loss for the CH, who now have a 20-47-11 record.
While this is a sad record in itself, Laurie Couture-Dallaire pointed out another even more embarrassing statistic for the Canadiens. After last night's loss with Price in net, she revealed that the Canadiens will finish the 2021-2022 season without a goalie reaching the 10-win plateau. This is the first time this has happened since 1939-1940, when seasons were only 48 games long...
See below the statistics, as of this Friday, of the CH goaltenders:
Over an 82-game season, the last time this happened in the NHL was in the 2010-11 season. The New York Islanders stole the Flyers' humiliating record from the 2006-07 season.
