In a press conference earlier this morning, Patrick Roy reacted with sadness and emotion to the death of the great Guy Lafleur and the former legendary goaltender underlined the great generosity of the mythical #10.
"It's all very well to expect the worst, but you're never ready for that. We were hoping for a miracle and good news, but it didn't happen this morning. The important thing in life is to be true and Guy Lafleur was true. He was an extraordinary person who had an impact on young people. On Saturday night, during La Soirée du hockey, we were Guy Lafleur and Ken Dryden. They were not only idols, but role models for young people of my generation." - Patrick Roy
Words reported by the QMI Agency. Also, #33 had a very interesting suggestion:
"Patrick Roy proposes that a standing ovation be offered to Guy Lafleur tonight in all amphitheaters in Quebec rather than a minute of silence to celebrate the greatness of his work." - Kevin Dubé
