As our colleagues at Fanadiens.com report, as we (finally) reach the start of the 2022 NHL playoffs, tension is building in the league.
All bets are off, not only on the ice, but visibly off the ice as well. There is one NHL general manager, who has insisted on remaining anonymous, who has lashed out at the Montreal Canadiens (and the Dallas Stars).
In 2020, the Dallas Stars caused an upset and reached the Stanley Cup Final.
In 2021, the Montreal Canadiens caused an upset and reached the Stanley Cup Final.
Two magical runs and two teams that were defeated by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
See what this famous anonymous GM had to say, as he confided in the "NHL Breakers" platform:
"Dallas and Montreal, never in the history of hockey, that either of these two teams would have made it to the finals, if it hadn't been for COVID-19. They got lucky, and in the perfect storm, of an incomplete season and a false run to make the playoffs." - A DG jealous of the NHL
Basically, he really believes that the CH and Stars were just lucky to make it this far in the playoffs, thanks to COVID-19. He's talking about a FALSE run to the finals and a LUCK OF LUCK...
Solid sportsmanship here... Unbelievable! I would be really curious to know who said that, really! Toronto, Winnipeg and Las Vegas were three very big clubs last year, remember.
