In the last few minutes, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis unveiled his lineup (trios and duos) for tonight's game against the Ottawa Sens.

These lineups are important because, as reported by Patrick Friolet of RDS, St-Louis had this to say about his lineups for the day

"We're trying to get closer to what we want to have to start the season."

So, unlike the trios of the last few days, these are very telling trios and say a lot about what the combinations might look like for the first game of the season.

St. Louis says, however, that the absences of Nick Suzuki and Joel Armia (injuries) muddy the waters.

Anyway, here's the Montreal Canadiens' lineup for tonight's game in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador against the Ottawa Senators.

The complete lineup :

Caufield-Monahan-Pitlick

Gallagher-Dach-Hoffman

Slafkovsky-Dvorak-Anderson

Pezzetta-Evans-Dadonov

RHP-Drouin-Ylonen (the trio of extras)

Defensemen:

Guhle-Savard

Matheson-Leskinen

Xhekaj-Bowey

Extra defensemen: Schueneman, Harris, Wideman and Barron

Cayden Primeau will be the starting goalie.
