Basically, according to Luszczyszyn's data, Nick Suzuki is currently on one of the ten worst contracts in the entire league. Wow. (The ninth, to be precise)
Check out the full list:
1- Tyler Seguin
2- Seth Jones
3- Jeff Skinner
4- Marc-Edouard Vlasic
5- Darnell Nurse
6- Colton Parayko
7- Erik Karlsson
8- Zach Werenski
9- Nick Suzuki
10- Ben Chiarot
Honorable mentions: Josh Anderson and David Savard (CH)
Remember that this is a model, based solely on numbers and advanced statistics.
Remember also that Suzuki will earn $7.875 million for the next eight years with his new contract that will start at the beginning of next season.
Luszczyszyn explains that Suzuki is a very good player, but that right now, he doesn't deserve as much. That could change quickly, however, especially since, according to the expert, Suzuki has shown very good things after the arrival of Martin St-Louis behind the bench.
In your opinion, is this a good contract for the CH?
In our opinion, there is absolutely no doubt that this is a solid contract and one that will probably even become a bargain, fairly quickly. It just goes to show that the statistics are not perfect.
