It is now confirmed since a few days, Martin St-Louis is officially the head coach of the Canadiens.

After being named on an interim basis last February, Kent Hughes signed him to a three-year contract and let's just say that most hockey fans are very happy with the turn of events.

St-Louis has brought the team back to life and he has also brought back a certain Cole Caufield, who might have been a candidate for rookie of the year if he had played under St-Louis all season.

However, as Keven Mawn of Fanadiens.com reports, St. Louis barely signed his contract when a radio host went ahead and made a rather goofy prediction about him.

According to Grant McCagg, a former Habs scout who is very active on social media, Shawn Simpson, who works at an Ottawa radio station, said that the Habs' new head coach will be fired in his first full season, even saying that the contract he signed is pretty "comical."

Let's just say Simpson's comments didn't sit well with some media personalities, including TSN's Matthew Ross.

What a strange comment! In what sense? The staff is stable, as is the owner. The CH has a respected coach and a group of promising young players. Martin St-Louis is the reason itself that he will not be fired. So stay in Ottawa sports, boy."

Even Mathias Brunet got involved, when the La Presse reporter didn't even know who Shawn Simpson was, which says a lot about how well known he is to the various members of the media in Montreal.

Let's just say that Simpson should have turned his tongue seven times before speaking.
