Official statement from the Canadiens regarding Jonathan Drouin and it's causing a stir
In the past few hours, the Montreal Canadiens organization has released a nice official statement about Jonathan Drouin. It also allows us to mention how well Drouin has been doing lately, as his statistics clearly show:
"Jonathan Drouin is now the second-best passer on the Habs. And all of this is while missing 23 (!) games. I know there are people who take pleasure in criticizing him no matter what he does. But at some point, the numbers speak for themselves."
Via Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
In short, we want to salute Jonathan Drouin's good work, which has allowed him to reach an important milestone. See the official statement from the Montreal Canadiens about this:
"Jonathan Drouin collected his 200th assist in the NHL in the first period tonight. Congratulations, Jo!" - Montreal Canadiens
Solid! It continues to be a topic of discussion among fans.
Will there be a contract coming up for him with the Habs?
Drouin, 27, has accumulated 25 points in 45 games this season, a pace of nearly 50 points per season. He has notably scored 16 points in his last 20 games.
